About us

Nordic Mobility Research and Innovation AB is a Swedish registered company (Nordisk Mobilitet Forskning och Innovation AB) which started in 2021. The founder is PhD Gunnar Lindberg.

After many years as Director of the Institute of Transport economics (www.toi.no) in Oslo, Norway, it was time to start something new. With many years of experience in research and research organisations in both Sweden (www.vti.se, www.du.se and www.oru.se) and Norway it was natural to try to release the potential that exists in pooling strategies, projects and competence in a larger region.

In addition to Sweden and Norway the Nordic countries consist also of Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Similar Mobility and Transport challenges occur in all countries. Our aim is to be able to support in all Nordic countries (and thus English is a better choice of language).

Much of the influences in the Mobility and Transport sector comes from other regions of the world, as US and EU. To take part, with a Nordic framework, in the research programs launched by the European Commission is an excellent opportunity to develop the Mobility and Transport sector.

Technology is a strong driving force for the future Mobility and Transport system. But without framing the technology in Social Science the development may go wrong or be hampered. The sector has all the classical economic problems that makes it a loosely free market. Governance, Regulations, Economics and Behavioral science is all important to understand the different path we can choose in the future. But all the acceptable roads need to tackle our biggest problem – the climate problem (ipcc).

To work together with creative partners in this area is why this company is started.
